Albert Fish

Albert Fish was born Hamilton Fish , in 1870 to a respected family in Washington, D.C. When he was 5 his father died, leaving him an orphan. He was then sent to an orphanage where he was considered a problem child due to his frequent bed wetting. He later married and divorced to the tune of four wives. From these wives he had six children. Albert at one time became extremely religious. He became obsessed with religious themes such as sin, sacrifice, and redemption through pain. He is believed that he would force his children to beat him with a nail studded paddle until he bled. He would also stick nails under his finger nails, into his groin, into his scrotum and his anus. He forced himself to eat feces and would stick alcohol soaked cotton balls up his anus and set them on fire. He and his wives frequently participated in S & M as a form of torture and he would beat his children with his "implements of pain" (A bag containing a hand saw, a meat cleaver, and several knives). Fish believed that God wanted him to castrate boys. Sometimes when he thought he couldn't spank himself hard enough he would make his victims spank him after he molested them. Fish is said to have practiced: Sadism Masochism Active and Passive flagellation Castration and self-castration Exhibitionism Voyear Acts Piqueur Acts Pedophilia Fish claims to have molested over four hundred children, but police charged him with eight but suspect him on fifteen. He had already been arrested several times for grand larceny, passing bad checks, violating parole or probation, and writing obscene letters to a newspaper column. Probably Fish's most famous murder was twelve year old Grace Budd. He was working as a painter under the name of Frank Howard. One day he invited little Grace to his nieces birthday party and the Budd's let her go. Fish took her to an abandoned cottage and left her in a room, while he took off all his clothes. When he returned to the room Grace started to scream and Fish strangled her to death. He than chopped her up in little pieces and ate her for the next nine days. He said, "How sweet and tender her little ass was roasted in the oven," in his letter that he sent to the Budd's six years after her abduction. He also said that he had not molested Grace and that she had died a virgin. The police traced the stationary that the letter was written on back to Fish. He was arrested in 1935. Fish pleaded insanity but was found psycotic, but sane and was sentenced to death in the electric chair. Fish was excited about dying in the electric chair because he said that he hadn't tried that one. He was electrocuted on January 16/ 1936 at Sing Sing Prison. Supposedly he helped strap himself into the chair and it took two attempts to fry Fish because the needles still left in his body short circuited the chair.
